AFFORDABLE SENIOR HOUSING HUD 202 Program that offers rental assistance for seniors who meet the requirements of the federal program. 13 TYPES OF SENIOR LIVING AND CARE Independent living with amenities such as meals, transpor tation and activities usually included in a monthly fee. A combination of housing, personalized supportive services and health care, designed to meet the needs of those needing help with the activities of daily living. RCF/RCFI, RCF*/RCFII - Facility which provides 24-hour care or accommodation, board and care to 3 or more residents. Also may provide assistance with medications, bathing and dressing, etc. Residents are required to make a path to safety unassisted. A licensed Nursing Home Adminstrator is required for RCF*/RCFII. Communities and centers offering specialized programs for people with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of memory loss. Communities and/or Centers specifically licensed to provide health care and services involved in managing complex and potentially serious medical problems. Includes providers of licensed health care services in the home and companies that provide non-medical assistance with such tasks as bathing, dressing, meal prep. and transportation. Hospice care may be provided in the home or a senior care community. Services can include pain management and a variety of emotional, spiritual and physical support issues. Various programs provide a range of geriatric day services, including social, nutrition, nursing, and rehabilitation. INDEPENDENT LIVING ASSISTED LIVING RESIDENTIAL CARE HOMES MEMORY CARE NURSING CARE HOME CARE HOSPICE DAY CARE APARTMENTS Independent living units with age requirements. Meal service, activity programs and services usually aren't included in the monthly rent. Respite Care provides family members a time of relief from the constant everyday care of an elderly person. Short-term stays, normally in a nursing or assisted living facility. RESPITE Facilities approved to provide inpatient Rehabilitation Services (physical, occupational, speech, respiratory, etc.). Usually a short to intermediate stay, following hospitalization. REHABILITATION CENTERS Home Health Care companies with a state license (waiver) to provide Alzheimer's care in your home. HOME CARE/ ALZHEIMER'S WAIVER A team of health care professionals working together to help people regain function or skills lost due to injury or disability. ACUTE REHABILITATION A specialized area of legal practice, covering estate planning, wills, trusts, arrangements for care, social security and retirement benefits, protection against elder abuse (physical, emotional and financial), and other involving older people.
