(Ad on page 13) What is an "Ombudsperson"? Ombudsperson is a Swedish name for a person who acts as a resident advocate. An Ombudsperson is a state certified vol un teer with legal access to nursing homes, adult homes, and other adult care facilities in Nassau County: Ombudsmen respond to a variety of issues including: • Resident rights • Environmental concerns • Discharge, transfer, eviction concerns • Personal and quality of care concerns • Quality of life issues FCA is always looking for dedicated volunteers to be part of our Ombudservice team.
