Growing older has its rewards, but it can also
present challenges. Memory loss, declining health,
and loss of friends and family can cause emotional
disturbances including depression, anxiety, agitation
and sleep disturbance. At UC San Diego Health's
Senior Behavioral Health Program, a team of
geriatric psychiatrists, geriatric internal medicine
physicians, neuropsychologists, expert nurses and
other specialists provide comprehensive care that
involves the patient and family. Inpatient, outpatient,
and community-based services are available.
