The name "Agape" was chosen to reaffirm the Biblical word for "unconditional love" which is a goal of all Agape homes for seniors, caregivers, family members and owners. Agape Cottages is an alternative to the typically larger, less personal senior assisted living facilities and specializes in the ability to provide a very high level of care in smaller six bed care homes for a more personalized environment. One of our goals in our facilities (home) is to have a permanent home (the definition being "the place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household.") for both the elderly and the Caregivers. As we expand and improve our business model, we continue to learn and implement new industry innovations. Our experience providing a permanent home to Caregivers achieves the 'family like' environment that is crucial to the well being of our elders. Communication with residents, caregivers, administrators, nurses, physicians, ombudsman, LPAs, and families is transparent due to the fostering of a family home atmosphere for all involved. Providing that permanent family home environment for the staff is one of the reasons Agape Cottages, Inc. decided to partner with direct staff in business. To ensure all the warmest traditions of family for our residents and healthcare professionals alike, thus achieving a 'true home' environment.
