Woodbine has created an interactive and safe environment to meet the needs of residents with Alzheimer's and other memory impairments. Activities such as art, music and pet therapy encourage interaction and reduce anxiety, as well as modified bingo and seniorobics. Every staff member receives special training, plus instruction in validation therapy, an innovative concept for calming fears of those with memory deficits. The Continuing Care neighborhood at Ashby Ponds offers private Memory Care residences with a full bath. The Memory Care neighborhood is strategically designed with well-placed seating areas and the use of colors and symbols to help with way-finding and promote independence. Residents enjoy up to 8 hours of daily programming including recreational, social and cognitive activities. The building design and program - ming encourage resident engagement and interaction. You do not need to be a current resident of Ashby Ponds to move to our memory care neighborhood. Dealing with Alzheimer's can be tough.
