Different levels of services are designated by the following abbreviations. Adult Family Homes (AFH) are residential homes licensed to care for up to six residents. They provide room, board, laundry, necessary supervision, assistance with activities of daily living, personal care and nursing services, if necessary. Boarding Homes (BHM) are any home or other center established with the express or implied purpose of providing board and care to three or more elderly residents who are not related to the operator. Adult Residential Care (ARC) centers are licensed boarding homes which provide room and board, help with personal care, and may provide help with medication. Limited supervision. Enhanced Adult Residential Care (EAR) provides all of the same services as Adult Residential Care. In addition, limited nursing care may be provided and no more than two people will share a room.
