premise that a person dealing with any type of
dementia continues to relate to their usual, familiar
lifestyle...living in a home with just a few people.
Thus, the Light Heart Model was born... just 8
residents per "home" with 2 caregivers in the
daytime and 1 awake staff at night. Our Residents
wake up naturally in the morning. They do not have
rigid time schedules to follow. If our residents so
choose, they shower DAILY, and we never close the
kitchen!
