teams care for the physical, emotional and spiritual
needs of patients and their families/caregivers,
includ ing symptom and pain management, personal
and comfort care, around-the-clock access to clini -
cians, education, and support from a hospice social
worker, chaplain and volunteer. When symptoms/
pain can no longer be managed at home, VITAS
operates licensed inpatient hospice units at Baylor
Scott & White Medical Center–Carrollton (14 beds)
and Methodist Dallas Medical Center (16 beds).
